Andy's Voiceover
"Have you ever grabbed a doorknob or gone to push an elevator button and you get shocked? It's usually just a little zap. Nothing big, nothing to worry about. Electrical currents are all over the place. Safely encased in rubber and hidden out of reach, but they're there. They're always there. So even if you feel good and you feel safe, you never know, do you? That today is the day you might wind up with a shock to your system? The worst thing about getting shocked is you don't see it coming. It jolts you. It grabs you. It's electric. But when the shock's gone, you have to deal with the aftermath. Because a jolt like that, it'll hurt. It can burn you. But it can also shake you out of your comfort zone. Zap you awake. Force you to do something big. And see where the sparks fall."

Vic in this episode

Jack has Vic, Dean, Ben and Travis do chores. The team notices the tension between Jack and Captain Herrera and Vic believes it's because the Captain has chosen to support his daughter over Jack for the position of Captain. Vic later learns from Travis that Pruitt is upset with Jack because him and Andy have been sneaking around. Vic is shocked and doesn't know how she feels about that. When Andy and Jack finally come clean to their team at the end of the episode, Vic puts them on the spot by asking some uncomfortable questions about their hookups in the turnout room and who they would save in a fire: her or each other?

Quotes from this episode

Vic: I don't like tension with my granola.
Vic: Figured it out.
Travis: Figured what out?
Vic: Jack and Pruitt. Family first. Get it?
Travis: As usual, you are speaking in a code that I only half understand.
Vic: Family first. He picked sides. I think Pruitt told Jack that he's no longer staying neutral. He is supporting his daughter for captain with Frankel. And now Jack's mad. I mean, they probably had words. Like, bad words. Big, bad words.
Travis: Really?
Vic: Yeah.
Travis: You think Pruitt picked a side?
Vic: Yeah.
Vic: For instance, are you aware that your husband flosses a concerning amount?
Vic: Okay, when you have something to spill and you choose not to spill, you make angels cry.
Travis: It's not the time. It's not the time.
Dean: Mnh-mnh.
Vic: Mm-hmm.
Travis: Okay, fine. Jack and Andy have been hooking up.
Vic: What?
Dean: Wait. What? W-Wait. For how long?
Vic: Wha-- Why would they do that? I-I don't know. I-I don't know how I feel about this. N-- [scoffs] I mean, not good, I think, is how I feel.
Dean: Hoo-hoo-hoo.
Vic: Jack and Andy? Okay, that's unsettling. I am unsettled.
Dean: No wonder Pruitt was pissed.
Travis: I wonder how it started.
Dean: I wonder where it started.
Vic: Oh, ew. Do you -- Do you think they did it in here?
Dean: You know, Jack's my guy, and he hasn't said one word to me. Not one word?
Vic: No, we are a team built on trust, and they have been lying to us.
Dean: You know, if we can't trust each other, this whole place falls apart.
Vic: Okay, first, uh, is this why you two spent so much time in the turnout room? Second, did you do it in the turnout room? Okay. Third, uh, did you do it on or near my gear in the turnout room? And fourth, uh, who would you save first in a fire? Me or one of you?
