Vic in this episode

Vic is still pissed at Dean for throwing her out especially after she finds out that he broke up with Sasha. She gives him a piece of her mind about that and complains how he took Pru away from her. Later while looking for the escaped tiger, Vic confides in Jack that she thought her and Dean were better friends than that but apparently they weren't. Jack tries to assure her that they are but Vic doesn't need him defending Dean. When they make it back to the station, Dean approaches Vic and calls her childish for throwing a tantrum and Vic tears into him once more before running off. They look down the station but the tiger is already inside. Dean screams at Vic to not go into the barn which prompts her to go right in there with the tiger. She is stuck so Dean distracts the tiger with raw meet and Vic can escape. She hugs him as a thank you, their friendship obviously restored. At the end of the episode, Vic and Travis talk about their day.

Quotes from this episode

Dean: Hughes, what's the issue?
Vic: Nothing. There is no issue.
Jack: Kinda seems like there's an issue.
Vic: All right. You kicked me out for her. You made me homeless in the middle of a pandemic.
Dean: The pandemic hadn't started yet, and the reason why I asked you to leave has... Has nothing to do with Sasha.
Vic: "Confusing for Sasha." Those were your exact words.
Dean: And also confusing for Pru.
Vic: Okay. So you evicted me for some woman you didn't even keep around? How is that less confusing for Pru?
Dean: Don't... Don't you enjoy living with Travis? Why are we re-litigating this?
Vic: Because we're friends. Because I helped you with your daughter. Becau...
Dean: Yeah, and I'm g... I'm... I'm grateful for that, but how I raise my daughter and who I date, it's... it's my business.
Vic: Well, who's taking care of her now? Some other stranger?
Dean: It's my sister, Vic. Her firm shut down because of the plague, so now she's working part time from Seattle, okay?
Vic: Yeah. Great. You know, I do... I know Pru, and I know her routine. I know she can't have orange food after dark.
Jack: It is her aunt, Hughes.
Vic: Okay, you know what, Gibson? You didn't actually change that baby's diaper five time a day for months, and you didn't get all the poo under your fingernails, so you don't actually get an opinion.
Jack: Thanks for the imagery.
Vic: You just replaced me, first with some random chick, and then, yeah, okay, with your sister, but you still replaced me.
Vic:So, what do we do if we spot it?
Jack: I'm thinking we stay in the truck, try to keep eyes on it, and wait for Animal Control.
Vic: Oh, so chicken out?
Dean: You got a better idea?
Vic: Honestly, I am so mad, I feel like I could fight a tiger right now, so...
Jack: Yeah. I'd pay good money to see that.
Vic: I-I thought Miller and I were... like, ride-or-die, give-you-my-kidney-anytime kind of friends, but we're just... I don't know. I guess we're not.
Jack: Disagree. I think he'd give you a kidney if you asked.
Vic: Don't side with him.
Jack: Fine. But I'd give you a kidney if you asked.
Vic: That's nice. I probably won't, though.
Jack: Fair enough.
Dean: Behind you, Hughes.
Vic: I don't need you to narrate your movements for me. I'm not a child.
Dean: Well, you throw tantrums like a child.
Vic: Okay. You know, this isn't a tantrum. This is a natural human reaction to you dismissing my feelings and cutting me out of your daughter's life and abandoning our friendship. I just... I thought... You know, I thought we were more than that.
Dean: Well, what did you think we were?
Vic: Well, I thought we were family. But I guess I was wrong. No, no, no. Six feet, man.
Travis: Biological clock going off?
Vic: Ew. No. [ both chuckle ]
Travis: [ sighs ] I judged a dead woman today.
Vic: Mm.
Travis: Yvonne the Tiger Mom. I yelled at her while she was alive, and then I judged her even after she was dead. Because I'm angry with my dad. [ inhales deeply ] And that just can't be good firefighting.
Vic: Eh, probably not.
Travis: Mm.
Vic: But in fairness to you, what she did was... incredibly stupid.
Travis: Right?!
Vic: You do know stuffing down all that anger is not healthy, right? I mean, I, for one, prefer to air my grievances while they're still fresh.
Travis: Even if it gets you mauled by a tiger.
Vic: Almost. I was almost... ...almost mauled by a tiger.
Travis: I heard it was this close.
